Doll Face

To me, the video was rather weird. But, although it was weird, it was something I'm pretty used to, seeing as I used to watch SiFi (SiFi, not SyFy) often and a lot of their short videos were like that. Back then, I thought they were pretty meaningless, but now I realize that most of them have some sort of meaning or hidden ironies. Like in Doll Face. To me, Doll Face was a representation of people today. In today's society, fashion is everything. Everyone tries to keep up with the newer trend, but they never truly succeed. They buy everything to fit in, just for it to go out of style a short amount of time later. The media heavily influences style by showing men and women who are "trendy" and ridicule those who are not. People are pressured to fit in with the crowd, but they never really do because no matter how perfect you look/are, it's never enough. They just keep trying and trying until they finally break, like the machine in the video did. After you break, the world no longer cares about you; They're too busy still trying to fit in. We saw this when the video ended after the machine broke. Sure there was nothing else to the video so it would've been pointless to continue it, but it's still a metaphor in itself.
